Message from the Chair
With an ongoing commitment to improve the lives of children at risk of abuse and neglect across the country, the dedication of the staff and supporters of the Children’s Aid Foundation is undeniable. Their continued drive to increase resources to ensure that every child is given equal opportunity to develop in a healthy and productive adult is remarkable, and I am honoured to join the Board of Directors as the new chair.
The Children’s Aid Foundation has raised over $100 million in the last 30 years, which has helped over one million children and youth across Canada. I am inspired by their ability to help over 30,000 children and youth each year. I am so impressed with the dedication and professionalism of both the board and the Foundation staff, and I am excited to move forward along a strongly established path of success.
The Children’s Aid Foundation focuses funding and support on three main areas- prevention, enrichment and education. Our current work is making an impact, and with your help we can strengthen our present initiatives while rising to meet the challenge of growing in size and broadening the opportunities we provide to children across the country. Opportunities that may seem small, such as joining a local sports team or attending post-secondary school, can make a huge difference in the lives of the children and youth we support, and I am proud to assure our donors that 100% of your funding will be directed toward developing these programs to their fullest.
The Board of Directors has a commitment to good governance, and work guided by ethical principles and full accounting transparency. I am confident that together we can support programs to assist more children and youth at risk of abuse and neglect across the country. The Children’s Aid Foundation’s continued success and growth has occurred because of all of our supporters’ ongoing dedication to ensuring that no child lives at a disadvantage. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I thank you and look forward to our future success.
Sincerely,
Peter Lee
