1. I am a ward of another Child Welfare Organization, can I apply for a Children's Aid Foundation scholarship?
?xml:namespace>
?xml:namespace>
If you are not receiving a scholarship from another Child Welfare Organization (ie home agency bursaries or scholarships, Clarke Bursary, Ken Dryden Scholarship) you may apply for a Foundation Scholarship. If you are unsure if you will be receiving another scholarship but have applied for one, you may apply to the Children’s Aid Foundation but you MUST note other awards you have applied for.

2. I am unable to submit my application, what should I do?

The most common reason is that you have not filled in all required fields. Please check through your application for highlighted fields – these need to be completed. If you are still having difficulty, please e-mail scholarships@cafdn.org and we will get back to you.

4. My marks are not very high, is it worth my while applying?
?xml:namespace>
?xml:namespace>
Yes! Children's Aid Foundation scholarships are based on a combination of academic achievement, financial need, individual attributes, personal contribution and potential for success in your chosen field. Your best bet is to answer the questions as completely as possible so that the committee can make an informed decision.

6. I have not heard the results of my application and my school is requesting payment of fees. What should I do?
?xml:namespace>
?xml:namespace>
Foundation funds are to assist with the cost of your post-secondary education. We do not, as a rule, pay fees directly to universities. If you do not have the funds available to pay your tuition you need to apply for Ontario Student Assistance (OSAP) or other Province’s student assistance plan. Once you have been approved for Student Assistance, your school will allow you to pay a small deferral fee until your loan comes through. The Foundation will advance up to $500 (with documentation) for this purpose. Please allow three weeks to process this.
