say thank you for a great
Surrogate Santa 2009!

For the past seven years, the Surrogate Santa program has been brightening up the holiday season for hundreds of families in the Greater Toronto Area. Yet this year may have been the most significant one yet.

The purpose of the Surrogate Santa program is to raise resources to assist the children and families we serve during the holidays. These children come from families where abuse, neglect, poverty, violence, homelessness and substance abuse are a part of their daily lives. For families who struggle to meet their day-to-day needs, the holidays bring added stress as they try to provide their children with food and gifts.

The response to this years program was truly amazing. With presents flying out the door right up until December 23rd, the Children's Aid Foundation, in partnership with 97.3 EZ Rock, was able to raise more than $225,000 worth of toys, gift cards, clothes, sports equipment, household supplies, school supplies, and food vouchers. These amazing gifts were then distributed to over 1,800 children and families in need!

Thank you to the individuals and corporate partners who helped make this holiday season special for so many! And don't forget to mark your calendars to get involved in 2010!
