The Children’s Aid Foundation funds programs that give Canada’s most neglected, vulnerable kids the support they need to reinvent their lives.
The numbers are shocking: 76,000 kids across the nation live in foster homes, residential facilities, and supervised care. Their parents have been unable to care for them; they may have been victims of violence, sexual and drug abuse, and experienced insurmountable poverty.
The young people we serve have never been given a chance to believe in themselves, and they have led lives that most of us cannot even begin to imagine. The programs funded by the Children’s Aid Foundation give hope where none would otherwise exist. We bridge the gap between what the government is able to provide and what these children need to heal and become healthy adults.
We funded over $6 million in life-changing and innovative programs across the country last year.
Working with child welfare agencies across the country, including the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, Catholic Children’s Aid Society, Native Child and Family Services of Toronto, Jewish Family and Child, and the Children Welfare League of Canada, we fund Canada’s most innovative programs and services.
