Message from the Chair

Dear Friends,

Since 1979, the Children’s Aid Foundation has been committed to improving the lives of abused, neglected and high-risk children and youth. Each year, we assist thousands of young people across the country to break the cycle of generational disadvantage in which they are trapped.

The Board of Directors of the Foundation is committed to new and innovative approaches to child welfare issues. Our goals are the prevention of child abuse and neglect, the enrichment of children’s lives and the provision of educational opportunities for youth. During the 2006/07 fiscal year, we allocated over $7.5 million to initiatives directly affecting high-risk children and youth in communities nationwide.

Strategic alliances, good governance, strong business practices and a commitment to children are the guiding principles for the Foundation. The Board of Directors is proud to assure donors that the Foundation uses funds only for their intended purposes, that ethical practices are adhered to at all times and that 100% of all donated dollars are directed to programs for children and youth.

The Children’s Aid Foundation and its Board of Directors believe that every child deserves the chance to be a child. Thanks to you, we are able to make a significant difference in the lives of abused, neglected and high-risk children in Canada. We couldn’t do it without you!
