So You Think You Can Dance Canada season one finalist, Miles Faber, Toronto Argonaut Tackle, Chris Van Zeyl, and Juno-award winning singer, Jarvis Church were signing autographs all day.

On December 20th the Children’s Aid Foundation spread some holiday cheer at the 30th annual Holiday Season Celebration. The party, which was held at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in downtown Toronto, brought together 1,000 foster children and their families for a fun-filled day of movies, food, activities, and even an appearance by Santa!

Sponsored by PepsiCo Canada, the day kicked off with a screening of the newly released children’s movie Up, followed by games, face painting, cookie decorating, a dance party, lots of food, gift bags for the kids as well as family gift bags full of groceries and goodies. Another highlight of the day was the autograph station with Juno-award winning singer, Jarvis Church, previously of the Philosopher Kings, So You Think You Can Dance Canada season one finalist, Miles Faber, and Toronto Argonaut Tackle, Chris Van Zeyl.

“The Holiday Season Celebration is the highlight of the year for many of the children and youth we serve,” said Ann Barnard Ball, Executive Director, Children’s Aid Foundation. “Every child deserves an opportunity to enjoy the holidays and our annual holiday party allows hundreds of children in the care of child welfare agencies in the Toronto area to enjoy the spirit of the season.”

The Foundation has a wonderful network of volunteers who are a vital part of the success of our events and fundraising programs. Over 150 volunteers lent a hand at this year’s Holiday Season Celebration, some arriving as early as 7:30 am! The staff and families of our corporate partners represented a significant portion of these volunteers. Thank you to those from PepsiCo Canada, RONA, and The Equicom Group for helping to make this such a special day.

For some of those in attendance, the Holiday Season Celebration is the only holiday party they are able to participate in. We would like to thank all of the sponsors and volunteers who helped to make the Holiday Season Celebration such a success. Without your enthusiasm, commitment, and hard work this amazing day would not have been possible.
