On March 17 and March 24, 2010, Canadian retailer RONA
launched new stores in the communities of Welland and Aurora in Ontario. Both
new stores are staffed with local employees and together represent over 200
employment opportunities in their respective communities.
To commemorate the launch of the new locations, the RONA
Foundation made generous contributions to help local youth in both communities
pursue post-secondary education. At the opening ceremony of RONA’s new Welland
location, the RONA Foundation donated $2,500 to Family and Children’s Services
Niagara to support the organization’s education bursary program. The RONA
Foundation also presented $5,000 to York Region Children’s Aid Society during
the opening ceremony of the new Aurora store. RONA has been supporting programs
that encourage youth to pursue post-secondary education since 2003 and has
played an instrumental role in improving the lives of children and youth served
by child welfare organizations since 2000.

The Children’s Aid Foundation is proud to be a partner
of the RONA Foundation. Thanks to their generosity, many youth across the
province have had the opportunity to receive post-secondary education and reach
for their dreams. Thank you for making a difference!
