Thousands of feet hit the ground running on Sunday, October 20th at the annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. Eager supporters of the Children’s Aid Foundation arrived in full support of our Team HOPE, with total participants consisting of 162 individuals who ran and walked in the 5K, half marathon, and full marathon events.

“The Scotiabank Marathon is a wonderful event in which community members come together and support a great cause – child abuse prevention,” says Janice Robinson, executive director of the Children’s Aid Society of Haldimand and Norfolk. “With the money raised we will continue to support children, youth and their families in our community, enabling them to reach their full potential.”

This year’s Team HOPE included individual runners who chose to support the Children’s Aid Foundation, members from the Corsage Project, Children’s Aid Foundation staff as well as staff from child welfare agencies in Ontario. Team HOPE raised an incredible $49,000!

Thank you to all of our 2013 participants — we can’t wait to see you out there next year!
