Come on and VOGUE for vulnerable kids across Canada!
Founded by Madonna and her personal trainer, Toronto’s Hard Candy Fitness (HCF) is hosting world tour dance workshops between May 25th, 2014 – July 20th, 2014 in support of the Children’s Aid Foundation. These Addicted to Sweat cardio-based dance classes, based on choreography and drills that Madonna and her trainers do daily, cover everything from burlesque to vogueing, dancehall, hip-hop and contemporary, and are for dancers of all levels.
“What makes Hard Candy unique is our fun-loving approach towards fitness and our music-oriented style,” says Group Fitness Director Lori Kirwan, adding that the gym has 7 rotating DJs mixing a variety of live music in classes and on the gym floor. “At HCF, we want to make everyone feel special and comfortable no matter what race, gender, sexuality or background. We are all one family bound together by the love of SWEAT!”
Running for an 8-week period, the dance classes can be taken individually or as an entire set, and are available to both members and non-members. They offer a great alternative to a more traditional workout routine, and as Kirwan says:
“Dance is fun, full- body, and offers a social environment that naturally fosters the community feeling. You aren’t watching a clock, but rather enjoying the freedom of movement to the sound of wonderful music.”
All proceeds will go towards enriching programs that encourage young people in the child welfare system to improve their own lives by building brighter futures. “We care about youth and hope that our efforts help young people in need of programs or anything that helps them become more healthy,” says Kirwan.
Whether you’re flying solo or coming with a group, these dance classes will provide an exhilarating way to stay in shape while supporting kids who desperately need your help.

Individual classes are $20 for members, $30 for non-members, and $80 for all 8-weeks.
