It’s that time again!
The Children’s Aid Foundation holiday campaign has officially launched, and we’re asking for your support this festive season as we give vulnerable kids across Canada the best gift of all: hope for a brighter future. Here’s how you can get involved:
Between December 2nd and 9th, you can bid on one-of-a-kind gingerbread houses created by prominent Canadian designers, including Brian Gluckstein, Sarah Richardson, and Tommy Smythe, paired with chefs from top restaurants around Toronto. With all funds raised going towards providing life-changing programs for abused and neglected youth in Canada’s child welfare system, you can give back to your community while celebrating the holidays with a truly unique piece of art.
Provide kids in the care of child welfare agencies across the GTA with basic necessities and provisions that will help them succeed. From diapers and dolls to gift cards and sports equipment, by donating cash, gift cards, or gifts you can ensure that children in your community are given the opportunity to share in the happiness of the holiday season.
Have yet to purchase this year’s holiday cards? Why not consider these stunning cards created by a former young person in care, Van Loc. With two original designs catered to both the contemporaries and traditionalists, you can spread the joy this season while also giving back to kids, desperately in need of your support.
JJ the Bear is the mascot of the Children’s Aid Foundation, created in honour of J.J. Kelso, one of the founders of the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. Between November 1 and December 31st, you can stop by participating local RONA retailers in Ontario and purchase a JJ Bear for $10 or donate at the cash register to support the Children’s Aid Foundation. Funds raised will support the RONA Ontario Scholarship Fund with the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies, available to Ontario youth in the child welfare system.
