November marks Adoption Awareness Month across Ontario, an opportunity to shine the spotlight on adoptive families and youth in care who are eligible for adoption. While the Children’s Aid Foundation doesn’t facilitate adoptions, it does fund programs like Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, an initiative that works to find forever families for youth in care who have been waiting the longest.

Through our support of child welfare and partner agencies and collaborations with groups like the Adoption Council of Ontario, we can give kids the opportunity to build stable emotional connections with families that will provide long-term support. While many myths exist about adoption, especially in Canada, with the proper education, many parents are choosing to adopt kids in need within their own communities.
